small stones – March 8, 2016

I grew up in her shadow
afraid to be me
compared by everyone
unable to be free
so I became the rebel
the naughty seed

Looking back now
I know my own worth
I am who I am
not by order of birth
I am unique, individual
as we all are on Earth
