small stones – March 10, 2016

chocolate-caramel-swirl

like caramel and chocolate
sweet, decadent, smooth
lingering upon the tongue
delighting the taste buds
sliding effortlessly
pleasuring the throat

like strong black coffee
bitter, pungent, sharp
a stab against the tongue
a shock to the taste buds
swallowed hard and fast
invading the throat

I am tasting my words
before I say them

This is an awesome and delicious poem by my guest author Lori Carlson. I want to share this one because it awakened my senses of smell and taste. My sister asked me “what morning tastes like” I gave a silly response I can’t remember what. But, boom my friend makes me actually taste the picture! That is talent I don’t care what anyone says! LOL! Yes, I am a Carlson/Ravyne fan! Taste this poem and go and tell Lori how it made you feel. I dare ya! 🙂
