small stones – May 10, 2016

a show-off?
with your bright plumage
and elegant stance
those bright eyes
a knowing in the world
or resilient?
forging forward though poison
courses through your veins
I’ll follow your lead
and transmute
these noxious fumes

(Note: Popular belief is that peacocks are show-offs; however, the Buddhist believe them to be transmuters because they eat poisonous serpents,  and transmute the poison into their bright colored plumage)

That’s fascinating! Does that mean that the females DON’T eat the poison?

  2. That’s so interesting and what a beautiful picture!

  3. Soul Gifts says:

I’ve always loved peacocks. They’re the perfect colour for transmuting 🙂

  4. DaisyWillows says:

It would be rude not too. Ever heard what they sound like when they get together? Mute button needed. Glorious painting.

  5. Beautiful words and art.

What's on your mind? Let me know!
