small stones – May 15, 2016

what is it with you, Old Man Winter
that you refuse to let go?
you’ve blown a chill across the land
dipping temperatures low low low
so low, I felt the need to hibernate
to bed early, and up far too late
with frozen toes and fingers
even now, the sun can’t warm me

We’re about to plunge into winter – but at least it doesn’t snow here.

    • Lori Carlson says:

ah, well that’s good at least… does it just get cold? or do you get rainfall? or ice?

      • Soul Gifts says:

Cold is relative, I think. Temperature daytime hovers between 10 – 15 C, nights are colder, probably between 5 – 8, sometimes less. Winter is meant to be our wet season – but we’ve been in drought for some years. Seems to be breaking this winter. Occasional hail, iced over windscreen. Sometimes snow in the foothills behind Adelaide. There are snowfields in a couple of the eastern states.

Oh, so those would be like our early spring temperatures (or like right now since it has been very cold the past few days).. I hope the drought continues to break

Hope it warms up soon for you!!

  4. I know what you mean. Temps plunging back down into the 30’s tonight. 😦

What's on your mind? Let me know!
