#AwakeAugust – small stones 08/10/16

little beetle scurries
across the ground
as I weed the garden
I watch in awe
as the sunlight shimmers
across its back
reflecting blue then black
then blue again
such wonders I see
in a microcosmic world

During the month of August, I will be joining Satya and Kaspa for their Awake August 2016 and write small stones throughout the month. If you’d like to join us, simply write small stones during the month on your blog and/or post them on their Facebook page. Use the hashtag #AwakeAugust in your title to share with others on Facebook and Twitter. If you are unfamiliar with what small stones are, you can find out here. I do hope you will join in. It is a beautiful mindfulness tool.

Tails New Cover Small

About Tails of Sweetbrier:

This is a true story about a little girl who dreams of becoming a champion horseback rider. Deanie was born with a handicap, which made walking difficult. When doctors say she would never be able to walk, what does her dad do? He decides to teach her to ride horses. Will she give up when things don’t go well? What happens when she falls off her horse? Even if she prevails, she will need exactly the right horse so they can become a winning team. This inspirational story will show you that nothing is impossible if you don’t quit.

Tails of Sweetbrier has won a number of awards and recognitions, including the Feathered Quill book award silver medal, and finalist in the CLIPPA, honorable mention in the Purple Dragon Fly contest.

Tails of Sweetbrier is beautifully illustrated by Deanie’s sister, Holly Humphrys-Bajaj, who also designed the cover.
