small stones – February 11,2016
I am learning
to be like nature
unhurried, patient
persistent
everything accomplished
at just the right time
Infinity
Beautifully crafted poem that reminds us: Nature never forgets

“Forest Glade”
Painting by Walter Boodle
From premierpaintings.com
forever ago
I carved my infinity
into the knee of a tree
and the woods came alive
with hurt whispers of why
and an everlast promise
they’d never forget
my brief passage
no need of my sign
to remind them
we shared an
affection
small stones – January 11, 2016
when I brought you home
you were caked in mud
your beauty shrouded
an over-night soak
then a quick brushing
oh how you sparkle!
now you sit on my desk
a fist-sized quartz
glistening
a reminder of time spent
with friends and laughter
and the joys of nature
Haiku-A-Day in May — Day Eleven
“On Mother’s Day”
she gathers her chicks
snuggles them against her breasts
and wades through the pond
Haiku-A-Day in May — Day Ten
“Afternoon Nap”
curled in the bird bath
amidst birds fluttering by
calico sunbathes
Haiku-A-Day in May — Day Nine
“Romantic Rendezvous”
her lover awaits —
a blush from Nature’s pale cheeks
the first rosebud blooms
Haiku-A-Day in May — Day Eight
“The Acrobat”
He leaps, darts, and yowls
black fur chasing a house fly
what entertainment!
Haiku-A-Day in May — Day Seven
“Natures Chorus”
outside my window
the constant shrill of crickets
a mating love story
Haiku-A-Day in May — Day Six
“The Nursery”
fingers reach and stretch
upward to feel the sun’s warmth
the garden’s newborns
