#AwakeAugust – small stones 08/19/16

2016-badge

I take one last look
upon the evening sky
and come in from the porch
the days grow shorter
these late evening rockings
grow fewer, is that autumn
I taste upon my tongue?

During the month of August, I will be joining Satya and Kaspa for their Awake August 2016 and write small stones throughout the month. If you’d like to join us, simply write small stones during the month on your blog and/or post them on their Facebook page. Use the hashtag #AwakeAugust in your title to share with others on Facebook and Twitter. If you are unfamiliar with what small stones are, you can find out here. I do hope you will join in. It is a beautiful mindfulness tool.

    “these late evening rockings grow fewer, is that autumn I taste upon my tongue?” Ooo! Just loved this, Lori! Made me shiver deliciously. Autumn is my favorite time of year.

      Thanks, Calen.. Autumn is my favorite time of the year too 🙂 We had another coolish Autumn like day yesterday and today is supposed to be coolish too 🙂

        Yeah, I have a feeling it’s going to be an early and maybe BAD winter this year. Btw, are you at all interested in doing a haiku for a haiku chain that’s going around?

      • Lori Carlson says:

        Yes, I’ve felt that way about this upcoming winter too. I just hope we are both wrong.
        I shouldn’t commit to the haiku chain. I have days where I cannot write anything poetic to save my life. I’ve been trying to do the Haiku Horizon thing each week and have only managed to do two haiku in the past 5 weeks. So I best not, but thank you for asking me, Calen 🙂

        No problem, hon. I hope your inspiration is starting to come back even if it IS just a little at a time. {{{Lori}}}

    And here we are heading into spring, although we are still getting winter storms in between nice, bright sunny days. Take care Lori xx
