small stones – February 24, 2016

Precious memories arise
leave me longing
for those days wrapped
in poetry and prose
living my dream

and then the tragic memories
float by, depression
and pain, a mind void
of the chattering of muses
no poetry or prose flows

And as I sit here
I am reminded of how quickly
a life can journey
from health to sickness
to health and dreams once more

  1. Your blog is a delight as it this entry!

  2. “I am reminded of how quickly
    a life can journey
    from health to sickness”

This line of your poem hits right at home for me. I just lost my uncle on Monday and as we prepare for his home going service I am reminded of how well and healthy appearing he seemed on Friday evening, and how life was taken from him just a few days later.

Thank you so much for sharing this poem.

What's on your mind? Let me know!
