dark clouds weigh
heavily upon the town
a misty fog cuddles
against roof-tops
a fine mist slicks the roads
winter’s chill creeps
into cracks and crevices
seeps into my toes

It is all about words. Your words are enough to shatter someone's heart. Your words are enough to make a broken heart unbroken. Words have the power to change your life perspectives.

I love the imagery here. Reminds me of the fog tiptoeing in like a cat…
Thanks for the reblog and lovely comment, Amy 🙂
Beautiful imagery. I felt inside your small stones piece.
As to your discussion with Michael — I wonder how women managed before we were “allowed” to wear shorts, short skirts, and bath suits when the weather heated up!
Even as a kid, we still seemed to wear a lot more — like icky, scratchy crinolines!
Here, it’s been so much warmer than normal, talking about air conditioning in January doesn’t sound as silly as it might other wise.
“Thirty-degrees+ above normal Christmas Eve/Christmas Day,” she notes. “Still haven’t gotten my box of winter outdoor stuff down from the attic.”
Thank you 🙂 yes… it must have been rough on women in the past… probably why people carried smelling salts around all the time. Here’s hoping you get some winter weather soon 🙂
I take it that it is cold and bleak out your way Lori….I do the notion of it seeping into your toes…..lovely image….
Indeed it is, Michael… a very chilly, dreary day… hope the weather is better in your area
Yes Lori your winter is full on now…today at 9.40am it is a little cloudy but beautifully warm and pleasant……
Yes, finally… it was so warm all through Nov and Dec… I envy your warmth down there 🙂
We have a few hot days coming next week, pleasant will be replaced by stinking hot….lol
LOL… enjoy the warmth then… then enjoy the air conditioning later 😀 ha!
Thankfully I have such things…..you wonder how we lived without it once upon a time….
I wonder that sometimes too… we didn’t have a/c when I was a kid… I have no idea how I survived the summers… now I cannot live without one… strange indeed.
Exactly and only the rich and wealthy had fans….but when you no nothing different its how life was then….thankfully things changed to make life a little more comfortable…
too true, Michael 🙂
